A full day seminar themed "Intellectual Property Considerations for Researchers and Entrepreneurs" was held jointly by Brunei Intellectual Property Office (BruIPO), Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) and Innovation and Enterprise Office (IEO) of University Brunei Darussalam (UBD) on Tuesday.The seminar was aimed at providing information to researchers and entrepreneurs about patents and trademarks. It helped provide greater clarity about the most appropriate intellectual property strategy to protect researchers and entrepreneurs' work, and also how to effectively commercialize their new and/or improved technology globally.Nagender Aneja, IEO's patent officer, stressed the need to know when the results of invention or research should be published and when these should be protected for patents in his welcoming remarks.
